Ceremonial Matcha from the shaded hillside of Uji, Japan. Our food is rooted in umami and simplicity. All set to a carefully curated soundscape: ambient records, forgotten jazz, and the soft clink of ceramics.

The Experience

At Lonely Mouth, listening is a ritual.

From the moment you step inside, the outside noise falls away. In its place: warm sound. Carefully selected records hum in the background.

Lonely Mouth is a space for connection - to yourself, to sound, to flavour.

  • I’m so glad this place exists in Bristol serving traditional Japanese breakfast. Their food is truly phenomenal. The spicy plum crispy tofu is probably the best tofu I’ve ever had and the salmon was just perfectly cooked.

  • Went here for breakfast this morning and already have plans to come back. So much more interesting and tasty than eggs on toast! We tried the salmon, pork and sticky plum tofu - all amazing, especially the plum tofu. We also had matcha lattes which were really good. So glad this place exists, please don't go anywhere.
